Blackwater Outdoor Experiences treats young adult males and females ages 18 to 29. Individuals who are 30+ year-olds taken on a case by case basis. Using an individualized, strengths-based approach and focusing on the core issue, Blackwater Outdoor Experiences can effectively assess and treat young adults struggling with a wide range of mental-health challenges
From occasional use to total dependency, Blackwater Outdoor Experiences helps participants identify, understand, and move away from the core reasons for their substance abuse.
Focusing on daily processing tasks and identification of executive functioning challenges associated with ADHD, Blackwater Outdoor Experiences challenges participants to discover new coping strategies for everyday life.
Through exploration of self, family, and the environment, participants start to come to terms with their trauma, define how their coping strategies have helped them, and identify their strengths that will allow them to process and flourish.
Through an in-depth process of self-reflection, inventory of strengths, and an uplifting therapeutic community, individuals are able to find confidence, motivation, and an identity previously thought impossible.
Individuals struggling with hopelessness, negative self-talk, loss of motivation, and even suicidal ideation find solace and confidence in their daily wilderness living tasks and experiences.

We challenge you to take on independent living skills, provide for group members, and most importantly take care of yourself. Participants take away important lessons of self-care, caring for others, and caring for the things you have.
